Strange Noise from ac compressor

    Just installed a used ac compressor on my 2005 and I now have what sounds like a knocking noise coming from the compressor area. The truck never made this sound until I installed the used compressor. The compressor I installed is from a wrecked tacoma with front end damage. Could the clutch bearing be damaged? Other than the knocking noise with or without the ac on, it blows ice cold. I just replaced all of the pulleys thinking that might have been the problem also but no.

    My guess is you're correct. You can try Rock Auto if you're looking into getting another.
