Apparently Skip posted a political vid and said something about rules. At least that's what the banned thread said  It didn't give a time frame where I saw some did.

Very nice looking truck after one hell of a project. Can see additional stress tests coming. If everything underneath is quality like what I see everywhere else on the truck you won't have any problems on more rugged terrain.

They can't deny you access to your land in Alabama. Get it in contract from the owners if you buy. Most worries I got were from people that think you want to develop it and they want it to stay undeveloped even though they are selling it.

Been there and done that for many years before the mast and on shore duty. Loved this 12 week cycle where we only worked a few days (the weekend) out of the last two weeks (lots of mornings to go to beach at the North Shore in Hawaii). The other 10 weeks were morning, mid or midnight shifts that were only 8 hours each. Great until some whiny E-3's and others pushed for a change.

    Morning friends!

    From AlabamaWX

QUIET PATTERN: Most of Alabama will remain rain-free through the beginning of the Labor Day weekend as an upper ridge continues to hold over the region. A few isolated showers could pop up during the afternoon and evening hours near the Tennessee state line, but odds of any one spot getting wet for most of the state will be only around 10 percent through Saturday. The high today and tomorrow will be in the low 90s, then dropping into the upper 80s Sunday. We will bring in some risk of widely scattered showers Sunday and Monday, but still nothing widespread. Bottom line is that Alabamas’s weather will be nice and quiet through the holiday weekend.

NEXT WEEK: We do expect to see an increase in the number of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday of next week ahead of a cold front. Then, a nice surge of cooler, drier air should creep into the state Thursday and Friday when highs drop into the 79-82 degree range. Morning lows for a number of North Alabama communities will be in the 50s… See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

TROPICS: Omar is dissipating in the Atlantic, well east of the U.S. and far from land. And, Nana moved into the coast of Belize last night as a category one hurricane; it will slowly fizzle out over Central America over the next 24 hours.

Out in the eastern Atlantic, a tropical wave located off the coast of west Africa is merging with another disturbance located a couple of hundred miles south of the Cabo Verde Islands, resulting in an extensive area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Development of this system is likely to be slow during the next couple of days while it moves west- northwestward at about 15 mph, and a tropical depression is more likely to form early next week over the central tropical Atlantic where environmental conditions are forecast to be more favorable for development. Remains to be seen if this will impact the U.S. or any land mass.

The Gulf of Mexico remains quiet, and the weather will be routine on the Central Gulf Coast (Gulf Shores to Panama City Beach) for the Labor Day weekend with a good supply of sunshine daily along with a few scattered storms.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: UAB kicks off their season tonight at Legion Field against Central Arkansas (7:00p CT kickoff)… the sky will be clear with temperatures falling from near 84 degrees at kickoff, into the upper 70s by the final whistle.

LOOKING BACK AT AUGUST: The average high for Birmingham was 89.8 degrees… slightly below the “normal” value of 90.6 degrees. The hottest day was on August 12 when the high was 96. Rain for the month was 5.89″, well above the average value of 3.93″.

ON THIS DATE IN 1970: During the early evening hours, amid a severe hailstorm at Coffeyville, Kansas, a hailstone 17.5 inches in circumference and nearly two pounds in weight was recovered. Average stone size from the storm was five inches in diameter, with another stone reportedly eight inches in diameter.

ON THIE DATE IN 1979: Hurricane David made landfall in south Florida as a Category 2 storm. It caused 15 deaths in the US. Hurricane David was a Category 5 over the Dominican Republic were over 2,000 people died. It would be followed a week later by Hurricane Frederic, which made landfall on the Alabama Gulf Coast.
