What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

The ride is MUCH smoother. Now, it's not Raptor smooth or anything. These types of suspensions are a little more "firm" compared to stock. But you get less nose dive when braking, better cornering, etc.
My old struts were destroyed and 10 years old, so these are a huge improvement.
The proper alignment is much better with the SPCs on. Handling was drastically improved.

I feel like the new Elka's are getting smoother everyday.
Can't wait to hit the dusty trail with them!

 

So clean and shiny!
New LCAs and cam sleeves. My cam bolts were not rusty but the sleeves were rusted into the bushing. Sawzall to the rescue.

What's the other item you need? The riveter you linked? Thanks for the heads up though, and yeah drilling more holes isnt my favorite thing especially in the roof. But it's a damn fine place to mount a chase light and antenna. Plus you get cargo lights. So I'll probably end up doing it anyway. And interesting about the window. I dont like the look of the slider, but I'll probably have to just pony up and buy the replacement thru safe light or something. Last I looked they only charge like 400 installed for the solid rear window.

 

I have mine sitting and waiting too. Currently at 122k on the stock clutch. I get some noise here and there from the TOB. But with bigger tires and no gears I'm just waiting for it to all go out. Have a URD clutch sitting there too. Just biding my time on getting it all put it. Not a project I have any space to do it in. Need to find a shop that can properly take it on.

If you are just swapping LCAs like I did. This was super easy. Like piece of cake compared to the rear brakes I just did or the u joints. Like 5 bolts. With an cordless impact wrench it’s a piece of cake. (If you don’t have one get one it will change your life )

My A/C compressor went out at 70,000 miles. Cost me $750 in parts. Did the labor myself.

 

A new steering wheel

 

D4 came today! Power Steering flushed. Put about 2.5qt through it.

Next is brake and clutch fluid flush.

 

Installed Diamond Group 4’ LED strip to Softopper for bed light.

As a retired Mechanic and having sent a lot of worn out Police cars to the Auction yard with cold A/C. I was supper pissed that mine went out at 70K.

 

Yea. Total bs. The real kick to balls for me right now is my ac isn't blowing nearly as cold or strong as before when the issue arose. Used to be ice cold, now it's just "cool". Getting in contact with the shop tomorrow to see what they say.
