Okay so I am new to this forum and New to Tacoma's. Can someone anyone tell me how to turn off the annoying turn by turn voice when I put in a address before I put out what little hair I have left out. Thank you in advance for any help.

I've checked both the manual and searched in the head unit. Haven't found anything. Thought I would reach out and see if someone has figured it out.

There is a separate Navi Manual. I found this at the beginning of the Navi Operation section:

Are you looking to stop or pause the navigation or just the voice prompts? If you're only looking to silence the voice prompts, you can adjust the audio level of the voice prompts in Settings. After I picked up my '17 and tried the navigation, I thought it was defective because there was no voice calling out the directions. Turns out the audio level was set all the way down.

Actually looking to silence the voice audio for turn by turn. Every newer vehicle I have owned had a option to mute the annoying voice. Can't seem to find it on this.

Is this going to pause the whole route or will it just pause the voice from coming on?

I have no idea. Just popped open the manual to have a peek.

For me, the stock navi is hot garbage compared to Waze, Gmaps, Gaia, CoPilot GPS, etc.

I know that Gmaps has a mute button right on the navi screen.

Trading for a 2nd gen is a sure-fire way to get rid of that voice once and for all

I've been using Gmaps for a long time probably just going to stick with that.

It will save you in the end being continuously updated.

The only limitation is areas with no data coverage. I have had problems with Gmaps functions even with an offline area downloaded. That is why I have CoPilot GPS also. Completely offline and has decent FS road coverage.

If I were in areas that had no coverage more often, I would have subscription to Gaia versus the free version. I just don't get out as much as I would like to justify it. Great app though.
