I have a 2015 Tacoma TRD sport with the 4.0. V6 and the factory tow package. Looking at my truck it looks like I have a class 3 hitch but everything I read says my tow rating should be like 6300 pounds I think. I always thought that class 3 hitches had a 5000 lb rating. Is my truck rated higher than my hitch.

I have an 04 4Runner sport v8 with the tow package also and it obviously has a class 4 hitch.

Also is there anywhere in the truck that shows the option codes? Like on gm vehicles their all printed on a sticker in the glove box.

I have seen two sites stating the 5,000# rating, but other sites give them an 8,000# rating. The brochure for the 2013 shows a class iv hitch.
