I bought a used F150 mat, and cut it down to size. Saved a ton....

So, by looking at these answers, you need load blocks.

These guys are steering you in the wrong direction...for shame... Do it the "real" overlander way. 1) Go around the back alleys, behind supermarkets, etc, and get yourself some pallets. 2) Get some ratchet straps - not the chincy ones from harbor freight, I'm talking about the 4" wide ones for flat-bed trailers. You can probably DIY some from recycled fire hose. 3) Build your load on flat, level ground - for balance. Make sure nothing is stacked higher than your cab - or you'll lose like 10MPG to wind resistance. 3a) Tie the load down to the pallets using the straps from step 2. 4) Rent a small forklift so you can properly place the pallet in the bed. 5) Tie the pallet down to the bed using more of those ratchet straps from step 2. 6) Drive around the neighborhood, flooring it between stop signs and stopping short - safety first. If you're gonna do it, do it right, make sure that pallet doesn't slide around. 7) If this doesn't work... then go with plan B - get a bed mat... ;)

If your bed mat looks so pretty that someone would want to steal it, then you should sell your taco and get a sienna.

Oh there will be some mods all right
Just read through the entire thread, lots of good ideas but I didn't see anyone mention getting a bed mat. I believe that would be your best option.

I think if you place the item in your bed, and then fill the rest of the bed up with cement, let it sit for a day and then you can be certain that your item won't move.

Or...I guess you could get a bed mat.
