Props to you for a tidy and secured load. I’ve worked around landfills for the last five years and you wouldn’t imagine the stuff I have seen coming into those places. Stuff loosely strapped from behind tailgates to front bumpers hanging off truck roofs, trailers with shit falling off the sides all the way to the dump site, you name it. We haul big boxes and it still gets...interesting.

Every customer is told “Nothing over the top and a 10 ton limit”
My record haul has been a 24 ton load. Couldn’t recommend it lol

That seems suspicious; it would mean that your truck is only rated for 500lbs of payload?

    1,685 pounds

When the Tacoma is equipped with the 3.5-liter V6 engine, the Tacoma has a maximum towing capacity of 6,500 pounds. The Toyota Tacoma can also carry up to 1,685 pounds in its truck bed.

That dealer hype you just posted is flat out wrong for “truck bed” capacity. Maximum payload depends on the model Tacoma you have. Actual payload includes weight of passengers, cargo inside the truck, cargo in the bed, and anything you have added to the truck. And in no case is max payload ever 1685 in or out the bed, far less for some models. Look at the door tire rating sticker for max payload for your truck. And here are Tacoma specs for a 2019, pretty sure 2020 is the same specs.
    4E327AFA-0EF5-4836-8BD1-3C16BDB9470B.jpg

My 2019 SR 4X2 4 cyl Access Cab has the highest payload rating of all models due to its lighter curb weight per the specs, 1620 lbs (Max Payload=GVWR-Curb Weight). My tire sticker for the OEM tires that came with it show a lower payload rating of 1500 lbs.

My tare weight has been 2290 to 2310 kg so I use 2300 kg (5070 lbs) with me (240 lbs) in it plus cargo. Also have RCI rock sliders and other tools/stuff In the storage compartments.

    Screenshot_20200904-123422_Gallery.jpg

My payload is 990 lbs and believe it should be closer to 1175 lbs as listed on the US site.

Yeah I haven’t quite figured out the differences on the tire payload rating vs Tacoma truck specs, I presume based on tire size, type, and pressure. I noticed your ratings are based on 30 psi, tire pressure definitely affects load capacity. Need a tire expert to weigh in. :D

Ok, that makes more sense, then. You started out fairly low and have dropped it lower with some added weight, so you probably are technically only rated for around 500 now.
Of course, my truck is technically only rated for around 2200 in payload after I get into it, and I've had that in it a few times without touching the bump stops. They're easy to 'overload' if you're not paying attention. :notsure:

I think the tire sticker takes into account the weight of trim level options, which is why it is lower than what you see for the general chassis/cab/capacity list.

Pretty sure my SR 2.7 had that highest payload of any 4wd Taco: 1,350 lbs. Most 3.5 4x4 top out at around 900-1100 lbs.

That would make sense, except the only option my 2019 SR Access Cab has is the Utility Package, which deletes rear jump seats which should decrease the curb weight giving me more Payload capacity.

You've got a premium, extra stuff that reduced the payload. Mine is also 990, with an additional yellow sticker further reducing by 60 lbs, presumably from the port added accessories.

What extras reduced did you get to be reduced by 60 lbs?

Premium added sun roof, leather, blind spot monitoring, Qi charger and multi terrain cameras. I added bed mat and locking tailgate at time of pick up. Hidden light bar, pod lights, door speakers and rock sliders added as additional weight.

My SR had the typical factory door jam sticker with all the capacities and also a small, round yellow sticker underneath that listed my options (Convenience Pkg) and had a - 8 lbs with a note to subtract if from the door sticker. Wonder if you have something similar that says to + some capacity?

EDIT: that yellow sticker was WAY down low and could hardly be seen
