Alright well I got through to the title processing department. I’m on hold. Well see how long I sit on hold now. I’m guessing at the minimum it’ll be an hour

Brian, didn't you notice the "no whining" rule for this thread lol. Also I know how you can fix the problem you're having

    I have this:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0768QFDJQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

To verify it i rode around with an old phone to make sure it was trustworthy. its trustworthy. Also the rubber holder seems to dampen vibrations just fine. Though tbh I like the one @FreshOldTaco linked to better and would probably buy that one instead.

friday and monday are the worst days to call (in my experience). I try to call these places on Tues-Thurs in the morning (open-10a) that tends to work for me, YMMV.

I just renewed my 4runner registration in TX and the state has a surprising tracking system and I already have a confirmation of the sticker being mailed, and a paper registration was emailed to me to carry around as proof of registration for the time being. Now i just need to watch the mail in the coming weeks. it doesnt expire til end of month but I think it should make it here in the next couple of weeks. Kind of sucks that cali cant even send you a 'we got it, its processing, heres a paper confirmation to carry around until you receive our documents, k thnx bye'

There’s really no good time to call right now because of covid. I spent all day calling yesterday and getting the same message. The only time it seems to call and get in is right when they open. So luckily I’m in today. But I doubt they’ll tell me anything other than “we’ll get to it eventually” or, “it was lost in transit” you’ll have to get a new title issued and start the process over again.
That tracking system seems really nice. I’m sure this process would have been a lot smoother had this useless ass virus not shut everything down.

Funny story.....years ago, wife and I had issues with the IRS. We used to have to call regularly to talk to them. One day, got home from work, dialed up the IRS and I shit you not, I took a nap!!:D 60 min later woke up, still on hold....that one time was time well spent. Good luck!

So apparently they’re about 10 weeks behind on processing mail. Guy I spoke to said they are going through mail transactions from June right now and to give it another 2-3 weeks.

Right? You’d think they’d hire some temp contractors to help get caught up. But that wouldn’t be logical for the government to do. They’d rather people just get pulled over for not having up to date information so they can get ticketed and get more money to waste!

Just imagine what would happen if you were 10 weeks behind with paying your taxes or something like that........ Wouldn't be pretty.

Well I’m fucking done riding until I get my plates. Pulled over not 5 minutes after leaving the house today. Fix it ticket for no plates and for my exhaust. Fucking lame as fuck. Now I gotta put the stock exhaust back on and go clear the ticket and put the aftermarket on again

Ya. At least I still have my stock exhaust and it’s a fairly easy swap. Its just a pain in the ass. The cop who pulled me over also said to get my expired permit laminated and tack it on to the plates, which might help me not get pulled over
