Anybody have any idea on how quality these wheels* are? Love the look but, want to get a gut check on whether they're any good:

    HyperLink

    Thanks!

    Text says tire

    Which are you asking about?

The wheel screams cheap China knockoff. *I'd* be looking for something else.

Edited, that's an error on my end. I'm curious about the wheels!

Killer, thank you both! Any suggestions on wheels that have a similar look/feel/size (looking for 16s)?

    Could get the OEM version...

That said I bet you they are same or better quality than a LOT of people run...like all the "insert-a-name-that-has-the-word-rock-in-it" brand wheels from various major retailers.

Just wonder how much better a FN wheel knockoff is in comparison even though people rave about FN....

True! The OEMs are crazy expensive is the only issue. Been monitoring craigslist for take-offs but, I tend to agree with you!

Part of my job involves buying raw materials for our shop and I can tell you we maintain a strict NO Chinese metals policy. Their steel isn't exactly great but an aluminum casting? No way! We've had cast aluminum from other countries with porosity issues I sure wouldn't want my wheels made there! I can only imagine chasing an air leak for days until you finally determine it's the wheels themselves losing air.

Folks have been buying the 4Runner pro knock off wheels off eBay for years. I’ve never heard of a single failure.

16x7 with +13mm offset will limit future upgrades if you have any planned. Too narrow and too inset to fit 285-wide tires, for example.

Since I don't have 4x4 on this one, she may stay pretty standard. Mostly looking to upgrade around-town look. Next go around, I'll probably do a higher trip package (TRD OffRoad) and then, the upgrade fun starts.

You could also ask if they meet the SAE requirements for aftermarket wheels. If no then pass.

the original FN wheels were not made with a Flow Formed process. the first guy to get those wheels from FN is around here. his first set failed. since then FN has changed to Flow Formed manufacturing and is apparently solid now with no known reports of failures. I'm sure that those wheels above, and any cheaper wheels, will not give me the confidence I need when i toss this truck around like a madman.

my FNs have been beaten to death for 3 years and are totally good. the other guy's non- Flow Formed?

apparently you don't hear all the news. @BkerChuck is totally right about the materials deal. those above are some of the cheapest example of low quality materials. if you drive to the store and back you'd think it's no problem. see that failed wheel pic above? that was driving down a road at 30mph.

I hand a similar rim failure with an Enkei rim but I hit a pot hole at 30 mph. I’m pretty sure the Pro Comp wheels on my truck are made in China. My point is that if it has the SAE requirement it’s about as safe as your going to find in an aftermarket rim. My point is do your research. Ask a bunch of keyboards warriors doesn’t really count as research.

i see why you say that but my value for other folks' experience is as real as theirs. SAE didn't mention this to me and i run the same wheels. for the OP, asking a bunch of keyboard warriors seemed to uncover something the OP would like to consider. but whatever it's for the OP. Enkei isn't immune, no wheels are. if Enkei had a failure and i was considering those wheels i would want to know about it. SAE stuff doesn't help me sleep at night personally.

Definitely some concerning reports in here, but I have had my FN’s for quite a while now without any issues and I’m pretty hard on them

i had to ask the hard questions after seeing that myself, exact same wheels but a later generation. i asked a lot of folks to regain confidence beyond my own wheel thrashing experience. I'll add you to the list, glad to see another.

One thing that has me concerned about those wheels in the link is that I'm 90% certain they are showing a 3D rendering of the wheel, and not an actual picture of the actual wheel. That is suspicious to me. Either that or it's a really bad photo shop job when they show the photos of them "on" the truck.
