I’m close to 200k and still on original ATF (diffs I did a long while ago with M1)
How it’s used has a great deal to do with it, I don’t tow much and I’m 90% (ish) highway miles.

That said, I’m ready to do it. I want to keep it alive as long as I can.

I'd only do a drain and fill. For the same reasons that have already been mentioned.

My local transmission shop tells me 400,000 miles on factory fluid is normal on a Tacoma and most full size trucks. Most economy cars somewhere around 200,000. And the guys who have the fluid changed regularly don't seem to last any longer than the guys who leave them alone. Chances are good the truck will be in the scrap yard before 400,000 miles due to a crash or other failure. Chances are also good I won't own it even if it is still running. I'm at 207,000 right now on factory fluid. It still drives like new. It doesn't get the miles on it that it did a few years back, at the current rate it's going to be another 15 years before I hit 400,000

And if I do they will rebuild mine for $2000-$3000 when the time comes. How much will you spend on having the fluid changed every 30,000-50,000 miles even if you drove it to 400,000? I'll just keep my money and repair it if the time ever comes.
