    Greetings,

I have base model 2019 Sr 4cyl AT double cab rwd.

I would like to eventually tow 3000-3500 lbs.

I would like to know if a transmission cooler and oil cooler are necessary for towing under the 3500 lbs limit.

    Thanks,

    Benji

Yeah, I got it a year ago. I wanted the smallest reliable truck on the market, so here I am with my first truck. Love it! I just want to find ways to maximize it's utility functions.

I got the older 2nd gen I was zipping around all day today with it its a great daily driver pickup easy and cheap to maintain, started getting 23.5 mpgs around town mixed driving with the AC blowing cant beat'em, hang on to it. FYI I like the auto transmission myself the days of rowing thru a manual trans no more, funk dat shizzle

Good video thanks! I don't recall seeing and hearing about having installed AT and oil cooler. I worry that hunting for gear will shorten the life of the AT.

theres all sorts of AT coolers available, if your just towing locally I think youd be fine without a cooler, if your planning long distance excursions might look into one. check out this link they got everything you might need to get started with instructions on how to install, just load up ur make/model/year etc.

Well . . . a few months ago I had to bring a 12 foot U-Haul from Raleigh to Charlotte. I have an SR5 with tow, V6, AT. Going out to Raleigh, I got 21.3 MPG on the interstate with cruise on at 70MPH.
Coming back with the lightly loaded trailer, I got 11.2 in 3rd and 4th gear the whole way. You will NOT be happy towing much of anything, let alone 3500 lbs.

    How far?

    How often?

    What terrain?

Physical dimensions of what's being towed?

    It all matters.

depends if your towing regularly for a business or a moving company then theres better options, if ur towing a boat to the dock or a light trailer with mowers for a lawn service, or towing your kids stuff to college or something then it will be fine.

Not terribly often. Maybe a small entry level boat and small camper trailer under 3500. I have been using the bed to haul from hardware stores and loaded over 1000 lbs in the bed with no issues.

just do plenty of research about what you might need for your application before jumping in to buying more stuff than you might need, those people at etrailer.com have a help line you can talk to about your truck and what you'll need to accomplish your needs
