Tacoma 2020 voice text msg not working

Hello I just purchased the Tacoma TRD sport 2020 my voice text messaging was working and now it has stopped any help would be much appreciated. Now it will only let me select the pre-selected messages

 

Hmmm that’s odd. I’ve had my 2020 tech package since November 2019 with no issues . Have you tried reset ? Turn off truck/ unplug phone from aux? Usually that takes care of it.

 

Reset your system, otherwise remove you phone from the vehicle and remove the vehicle from the phone. Reboot the phone, turn the vehicle off and let set for about a minute and then reconnect the phone to the vehicle. Basically start over

With my 2 week old truck, the system doesn’t hear me talking, but I can hear who calls me. I have had to do this 3 times so far.

 

Is this with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto or the actual head unit?

I have an SR5 and the head unit won’t even touch messaging for me. Just calling.

 

for me, it’s car play and Bluetooth and only starting over does it work.

also it was the dealer customer service person who told me to start over the second day I had the truck

 

My 2020 sr5 will let me voice text if I have Android auto connected. It uses Google Assistant to do it. With only BT connected you get the pre defined replies.
