If you go the blower route, buy the beefiest one your budget allows. I went through 2015 with a little dinky one I had from my Mom's house and while it fought the valiant fight, it took forever and gave up the ghost at the end of the winter. The beefy one laughs off snow. That being said, I guess the ultimate question is what a plow guy would charge relative to a snowblower budget. See what makes sense. I suppose you could always buy a yard truck for the winter, though. I got dangerously close to use that for an excuse for a K5 / Bronco for a bit (yes, I know half tons are far too light to plow, give me a break).

We went out and got new cell phones plus changed carriers today. Our phones were 3yo and started acting up plus Sprint now stinks for us since they merged with T-mobile!

Half tons are fine for plowing your own driveway, they're too light to do it commercially and will end up breaking. The trucks you're talking about at least have a solid front axle, they'd plow just fine. There's a local member here who plows his own driveway with a Tacoma and plenty more who do it with ATVs or UTVs.

Hi Rob, how’s it going? We’re in the same boat. I have sprint and they were already stinking. And now that they’ve merged it even worse. I’m waaaay past my contract time. Probably like 4 years and so ready for something different. Who’d you go with? I’m open for suggestions

We got Samsung S20 plus with Verizon. The plans are a little more expensive but at least I'm not roaming everywhere and everything is working great!
We went to Best Buy in N. Attleboro and had great customer service!

Nice! Thank you. I was with Verizon about 6 years ago before I switched to sprint. They were getting so expensive at the time. Their service and coverage was always better though for sure. Maybe it’s time to look at them again.

Yeah, I had them before Sprint too but when we couldn't make calls we figured why pay Sprint for service that doesn't even work!

If you have spectrum internet, you can get cells with them, we do it and it’s great for us.

Internet calls were fine but the service wasn't working as a mobile phone which is what we needed for.

Issues with sprint huh? I've been in skirting for quite some time now but haven't been running into this issue. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

I recommend a poulan pro snowblower. Father has had theirs for at least 15 years and it's never quit. I've got the same one also no issues. Others in the family also have the same one.

Sprint doesnt get service outside of large cities historically from what I have seen, I know Tmobile/sprint gets no service where I live now.

That said, Verizon has been super bad around here lately and I've been getting frustrated with it. Most these carries are cannabilizing their 3g waves for other projects too which make them worthless to the cell phone users.

Then I saw a thing how google blocked someones texts for 10 days after sending someone a link to a political site. So its like...

Lets break up big tech a little, is the guy who broke Ma Bell still alive

The ATV idea is also something I'm considering-a heck of a lot more cash than a snowblower or a plow guy, but much more versatile. I could be on a Honda Rancher of some flavor with a plow for less than $10K.

I’ve been on the prepaid AT&T route for a few years now. No issues. 75/mo for me and wife. Same att network, I think the vz prepaid is the same. Before this I was on sprint prepaid which was a pain.

+1 on the Poulan my neighbor growing up had one. He had a roughly 8 car driveway 4 wide by 2 deep, roughly. He cleared feet of snow with that thing and he had it for 20+ years probably still does.

I was going to say that - you have a 300 ft driveway, you must also have a decent yard to have to deal with, aye? Check out the atv and tractor plows. They also make snow blower attachments for tractors too. They’re expensive but if you have to spend for a tractor or atv for the rest of the yard anyway, they’re about as much as a good snowblower to have alongside it. You’d still have to shovel some stuff of the tractor can’t get to it though like walkways etc.
