I finally was able to get our '20 Taco in some mild offroad action today, and noticed then when I put it into 4lo, the dash monitor switched to a camera view with the front camera on and the side cameras, as well as a little inclinometer. I thought this pretty cool, didn't realize it did that, and it was actually quite helpful getting around some rocks.
But after stopping for lunch, when we hopped back in, damned if I could figure out how to get it back on. View button didn't seem to be doing anything. If I shifted into reverse it came on (with rear camera) but nothing going forward this time.
    So...camera 101 for dummies?

Are you saying the “view” button doesn’t work at all? You have to be going less than 15 or so mph. above that it turns off. You can push the “auto” soft key on the camera view so it comes back on once you get below the 15 or so mph. If you don’t push auto you have to hit the “view” button each time.

And while in the view mode you can touch the screen to change the view a bit like to a bigger middle view or bigger edge views or change the tire guidance lines as well.

Not sure what was going on. The screen just switched to it automatically when I engaged 4lo, never thought much of it. And then when we got going again, nothing. Pressed the view button but it didnt seem to do anything. We were stationary so speed wasnt the issue. May have been a glitch. or just dumb ass user error. I'll play with it some more later. Found a video that explains it quite well tho. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhJQDnHJ1DQ&ab_channel=ToyotaCanadaInc.

Chalk it up to user error; seemed to work just fine switching back and forth in the driveway.

If you still have the MultiMedia guide that came with the truck.
It explains it in there. Or you can download it from Toyota.

There are a lot of different views.
And some of them can only to be Viewed at certain speeds.

I read about it briefly, pretty neat little system.
