I spent some time in retail, I can’t say this is how it works, but I will say Im not surprised as this does happen.

 

they have good products! Which one did you go with? Their Elite Pro’s are expensive. Great deal to get one of their nice ones.

 

I see that all the time and it's really annoying. A company increases the price by 20% ... and then makes an announcement for a 20% off sale. LAME.

 

This is why I ended up cancelling my prinsu order with CBI and order through truckbrigade.com $50 cheaper. Also went with RCI skids as well since they’re price has been consistent from day one.

 

It looks like Amazon price using search went up. Here's a picture of the price from Friday. I would just check Amazon for when the price drops again.

I went ahead and ordered full skids from CBI, (I think their design has an edge on the competition) I thought their prices may had increased, but wasn't sure.
I know metal prices are going through the roof right now, so many companies are forced to compensate. However, looks like their prices may have gone back down to 965 for steel (aluminum stayed the same). If that is what they are doing, that isn't right. Also, their shipping charges are crazy! 265 to ship to Missouri. I know shipping is high and they are in Idaho, but I wouldn't think it would take 265 to ship aluminum skids to Missouri. SOS charged me 100 to ship rocksliders using Fastenal. I think they could do better on shipping by using other options. Just my 2 cents.

 

I used to work for a company that sold roof racks, bumpers, etc.. We would only use a couple of shippers because of reliability. Most of the time when we used a new shipping company, damage claims would increase significantly. A lot of customers wouldn’t inspect the package when the driver was there either which would bit them in the ass. We wouldn’t leave the customer hanging so it would alway cost us money to ship it back and repair it if they couldn’t get the insurance claim.

 

That makes sense. Nobody ever looks at the packages before signing for them, and many don't realize you can sign and take possession of it but have the driver note damage and sign off on it as well. I do, and a lot of time the drivers get annoyed. lol

If you're in Springfield, you should visit Chris @ DGG Fab. This is where I bought my roof rack. I'm sure he can get you a set of skids made and you'd save hella on shipping.

 

I'll have to check him out. I heard someone mention him, but I thought all he did was installs. I didn't know he did fab work as well. Thanks!
