My Sr valve cover is leaking oil around spark plugs and you can see signs on out side the the outer side of cover where it collecting dirt. When I changed the plugs at 100k there was no sign. I think I'm going with factory gasket I heard of people cracking the valve cover with the felpro gasket set on earlier models. Don't want to take a chance. Anyone think otherwise? Or have done it? I know I'm the few people that put this many miles on a 3rd gen. It will be my next Sunday project.

My bro has a first gen and I recall the consensus is to use OEM gaskets. I would play it safe with using OEM ones.

I would have a hard time justifying aftermarket if you got 250k out of OE.

curious if you’ve had any other leaks or major problems so far. I just cracked 100k a couple days ago. The only thing on my truck that leaks is the timing cover, but it’s not terrible.

Nope this is first leak I would of not known if I didn't change the plugs. All I seen is just residue on out side where it meets the cylinder head

I'd stick OEM; 250k sounds about right for most vehicles to start leaking.
