I miss the two door GTi. I have no eyes for a GLi with the trunk cut off

I’ve said for the past 5 years I’d hook my 4.0 to any 3.5 hitch to hitch and drag them to whatever gay bar they were headed to

That's cool that you want to hook up with some guys before taking them to the gay bar. They might be confused at first by your extremely hetero 4.0 V6 though.

    I have had 2 first gens, a 2nd gen, a 4 th gen 4 runner and 3 -5th gens and a n FJ cruiser.

I stopped reading but the number one contributer,to low end grunt and feeling zippy is axle ratio, The engines are all turning a flywheel. My FJ cruiser came with 4.30s it beat the snot out of all the 4 runners. My first gen taco came with 4.10s the newer tacos have put some steep gears in for fuel economy.
I think all the GR engines are great for what they are.

The 3.5L and 4.0L are almost the same ft-lb torque (265 and 266) and reaching max torque at 600rpm difference (4600rpm and 4000rpm)

To save an arguement the reply was to the thread and no member in particular. Also, unbeknownst to me, higher octane produces slightly more torque at lower rpm (wikipedia).

I filled 17 gallons, roughly 1/8th tank to full, in 1 minute and 50 seconds. That’s much faster than you can charge an electric vehicle to the famed “quick charge to 80%”

4runner still has the dual VVTi version of the 4.0, for now anyways. Get one while you can!
