Has anyone modified their truck to connect external signal lights from the existing signal light circuit on the V6 2017 Tacoma?

Welcome to the forum from Eastern North Carolina!

The answer is yes, and it's so easy that a caveman could do it.

As many as I can fabricate
Insert key and turn to on position
Get test light with leads around neck for the cool factor (like a doctor and a stethoscope)
    Turn signal on
Stab wires that lead to flashing lights and when test light flashes, say to self..."uh-huh"
Ask wife to unwrap lead from neck so breathing will continue
Ask wife for band-aid for stab wound in middle finger, left hand.
    Get beer.

Any other questions may be directed to the turn signal department. Lol
