My dad has a 2020 Tacoma SR with a manual sliding window. I saw an OEM powered sliding window for Gen 3 Tacomas the other day and was wondering if it was feasible to swap the manual glass with the powered, run a wire through to the center console, and install a button there. First question is, would the SR's back window be the same size as an SR5 or a TRD. Secondly, is this idea even possible? If so, is it more trouble than it's worth? I realize there's several mods including Benwas as well as (possibly?) CRL's power slider windows (not sure if they're what I'm looking for) but was still curious about my original idea.

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Not if it’s an access cab.

Double cab maybe. The windows are the same size across all models.

    And welcome to the forum.

    Here is some more info:

On your AccesCab IL3 most likely has one side with the wire and none to the other side since you have no rear power window. But that makes much easier to add power to the sliding rear window.

Maybe there are even the spots for the relay holders, not that you'd need them in that exact location...(think JunkYard Pull)

You could place a dual relay holder in the Passenger's kick panel and wire it up to the IL3 then run the 2 wires to the sliding window motor.

Just about anything is possible if you have the smarts or cash.

Be cool to have the whole window go down like the Tundras.

Check the passenger's side for connector IL3, see if the wires are there from one side of the pair that makes up IL3. (At least 20A fused power- rear power window)

Something that always bugged me, why not have that feature in Tacomas. It is a lineup option on almost all other "truck" models, so why not the most popular one?!

If you see the parts for the Tundra, it's a "door" assembly...
