I have a 2015 Tacoma SR5 5lug and i was under the impression that all SR5's were pre wired for fogs. However my truck doesn't seem to have the wiring for fogs. I bought the actual housed fog lights but i have no way to wire them. Do you guys recommend i go the aftermarket wiring route or should i just get the OEM wiring kit from the dealer(not sure if they offer a plug and play for my model truck?)? any help will be appreciated

If you want my opinion, it depends how handy you are with electrical wiring and installations in general. If you're not very handy, OEM will give you pretty much a plug and play installation. It will also look factory installed.

However, if you're even slightly electrically inclined, the wiring is very simple and straight forward. All you have to do is buy wire, connectors, a switch, a relay and a few other bits and bobs and you can probably wire everything up in an hour or two.

i removed the blanks from my truck and found what i thought was the wiring for the fog lights but my OEM fog light switch that i purchased didn't fit. Any idea what this wire is for? IMG_0815.jpgIMG_0817.jpgIMG_0818.jpg

Go into the engine bay, remove the cover to the small relay box attached to the main relay/fuse box. See if you have the terminals for the fog lamps relay. Also, sometimes the connector is wedged/taped up next to harness behind the slots for the switches.

My 2019 is an SR and it had no foglight wiring, went to the dealership and they gave me a card for a shop that does aftermarket. I went that route
