Quick question. I have a slight stumbling type of thing happening to the engine when I'm driving about 45mph. I could barely feel it when it first started happening, 6months ago. But, now it's starting to get worse and happens at 60-65mph too. Almost like partial plugged injectors. No check engine lights.

The truck sat for two years due to being repo'ed with 18K miles. I have put 40K more miles on it in the last two years.

Anyone have any injector issues. I have put injector cleaner into the gas tank, no change. I have put gas treatment in the tank a couple times thinking it was water in the tank but no change.

I just took out all the injectors in my daughters elantra and cleaned those and it runs great... Can a normal shade tree mechanic do this job on the 2016 Tacoma?

Lastly, if this is covered in another post please point me in that direction. I did not find what I was looking for in my searches. Thanks, Fishengineer

2016 Tacoma Sport, 4wd, lifted 3", Transmission already reprogrammed, nothing else done to it other than oil changes.

    Have you considered spark plugs?

I installed VF tune and that helped alot.
Sparkplug soon, I am only at 50500 miles.

maybe T-SB-0077-16? or TSB-0062-18? One of those seemed to address it.

I’d check to see if the CPS had been replaced and ecu updated to 04b04

also possibly spark plugs or trans fluid but I’d guess it’s one of the first two

I will ask about the CPS and ECU updates on my next dealer visit. I am 99% sure that this has been done. Also, I think I'm gonna go ahead and change the spark plugs since I'm over the 60K mark. Thanks for the advice. I assumed that modern spark plugs were good for 100K+
    Thanks, Fishengineer

the injectors could have been compromised from bad gas having set so l o n g

no lessNextt in line the spark plugs.......................lets Not forget the coil paks

any of the above could be the issue so be very deliberate

or a shot gun approach will result in U NOT knowing which component/cylinder

    is giving U grief

    keep # 1 coil pak..........sparkplug.........injector as #1

the rest o the cylinders respectively

    dont make it a jumble

Cool. Road Dog, Will do. Found that most of the issue was exacerbated by a bad battery. However, I am still seeing the issue at 45mph after changing to a new battery. When I change out the spark plugs I'll update with waht I find. Thanks, Fishengineer

If it’s fish biting at 45 a scan tool to check data PIDS like fuel pressure, ignition timing, misfire counter, etc. everything else is just parts cannon based on conjecture.
