    Hello again!
New 2020 SR 4x4 AC owner here...
OK, so I've been reading about how some of the annoying stuff can be programed OUT of the computer. Like the driver side door being open and the 'ding-ding' (But not the 'door-ajar' picture on the little center screen) ... And also the seat belt 'ding-ding' if left UN-latched.. (Yes, I've seen the plastic do-hickeys that plug into the belt, but would rather not have to deal with another thing...)
And I've been told that when you take yer rig in for service, the dealer can plug their woozit into the computer and turn those things off. And I've been told if you're nice to the mechanic ... And possibly buy them a foot-long from Subway, they'll do it for free.. LOL!
I want those things done, BUT ... The thing I really want done... And it's really irritating to me...
When yer rig is locked.. And you hit the 'unlock' on the key fob... It only unlocks the driver side. Not the passenger side.
I understand why it doesn't unlock the passenger side.. (A safety feature so some criminal-type doesn't jump into the passenger seat while you're unlocking the door in a parking lot) ..
But I'm finding this a real PITA.
SO... Is this something that can be DE-Programed also? So both doors unlock at the same time? Anybody know?
This is the only thing about my new truck that I really, really dislike...

TechStream or the Carista App can do most of that.

Popping both locks is an option that can be set in Head Unit without a separate tool.

The full list of customizations is shown in the link at the bottom of the ECU Update thread 1st Post. It was put together using a 2020 Taco.

    Thanks for the info/tip!
Well, I'm not about to start reprogramming stuff myself, but at least I know it can be done. So that means the dealer can do it.
If I have to pay for this at the dealer ... Or buy the mechanic TWO Subway foot-longs for lunch, it'll be worth it. LOL!:D

It depends on your future intents? If you happen to want the stuff adjusted again, like the number of turn signal flashes, going to the dealer can be a frustrating PITA? Esp as the dealer is very unlikely to turn off the seat belt chimes.

If you have an OBD adapter for your phone, the Carista app gives you a free trial week. If you don't have an adapter, they'll sell you one for $30 and give you a free month.

If you plan on tuning or adjusting things often, esp having two sets of wheels and TPMS sensors, then the Tactrix adapter is a worthy purchase, with TechStream being a free download. It would save you later if you purchase the OVT software.

    Just some ideas.

Dealer can and will but they will charge you. I tried to BUY tech stream a while back and couldn't figure out how. There web site is terrible! I wouldn't think of tech stream as "programming" your vehicle. It would be more accurate to say you are changing some settings.

There is a cracked version out there but aside from the obvious legal issue here cracked software is often embedded with malware. With that said, it does work with the USB cable you get with ovtune.

A local TW member may even help you if you include your location...but I'd all encourage you taking a leap to DIY if you are inclined. There are plenty of folks willing to help if you post any questions or problems!

For the version linked by @lapoltba and me, no one has reported an issue other than a/v flagging up some warnings. If someone happens to note a true problem, we would pull the shares.

Thanks for the tip/advice .... There's a lot of computer stuff I'm really good at ... But this is something I wouldn't feel comfortable with.
I especially wouldn't want to have to tell the wife 'Hey, guess what dear! The brand new truck we just bought? Well, I just totally Eff'ed up the computer system in it!' LOL! ....
Yeah, I'd rather pay someone who (hopefully) knows what their doing.. If the cost at the dealer isn't crazy-expensive, I'd rather go that way..
