Jackie Bushman is a DICK!! I know a guy who hosted Jackie for a hunt at his lodge several years ago . He said that Jackie was an arrogant asshole who treated the lodge employees like shit. He also said that Jackie Bushman would not be coming back.

Deer season comes in here Saturday. Just looked at the calendar and it looks like I didn’t get a draw for archery season this year

I’m joking, my wife wrote that. She loves to crossbow hunt. I told her to have at it. We don’t have to draw for tags.

We can shoot 2 bucks and 4 does and pay for 2 more doe tags if we want.

We try to put 4 deer in the freezer a year.

This season I’m hoping her and our 8 year old son can do that, I don’t mind doing all the work if they want to hunt. I’ll take him when we can go.

    ha. My bad.

That’s a lot of deer. We can take 4 total but I’m usually only after a buck.

Do you like that you can shoot that many deer or do you think they’d grow bigger with a different management program.

It sucks in Ohio to get a buck early. You wait all year and the season is done. But we have some decent deer.

We have some big deer around here, the problem is if you let them walk the neighbors kill em or they get hit by a car. The tracts of land aren’t that big. Where we hunt it’s 44 acres and every adjoining piece of property has someone hunting it.

For me, the first thing with horns hits the dirt. Black tail aren’t called ghosts of the forest for nothing. They are tough to get.

After that, I get selective and try for a really nice buck. If my fly in trip every year doesn’t pan out I’ll try for a doe to make it 3 deer. Half a moose or 3 deer is enough to feed the family 2-3 meals a week for a year.

We have both in our province depending on the area. Generally speaking, areas with easier access will have a lottery and/or major antler restrictions.

Where we go in northern BC it’s General Open Season (OTC) because it’s super remote. We take a float plane into a mountain lake and get dropped off for 10 days. I usually get goat, sheep, caribou and moose tags OTC!

Here’s the moose we took a few weeks ago. (My buddies dad in the pic)

we have the same limits here as you ,except some countys are antler restricted. our herd is a mix depending on area..some are shoot a doe before you can shoot a buck.the 2 countys i hunt are one buck must have 4 points on one side.our property is managed so we only shoot bigger bucks and all the does you want per game commission for that property.we send in weights and a jaw bone for each deer killed.get a report at end of the season.
