Factory alarm on 2001 Prerunner self-actuated and doesn't respond to the normal resets. Suggestions?

    2001 Prerunner was parked and left unlocked. When I returned the doors were locked and alarm sounded upon entry. Ignition is also disengaged so I can't start vehicle. The red lighted button that usually allows reset is unlit and appears stuck in the depressed position. I've tried the key on press the button trick and the multiple lock/unlock trick. Next I plan to pull the horn fuse to make it less annoying and try the reboot by turning key on and reconnecting the battery. I am not hopeful since the other typical fixes have not worked. Of course its a holiday so my normal mechanic is closed. Grateful for any suggestions.
