You have my sympathy, I've had one of them annually for near 40 years now. And it's the same thing every year!

Next one is coming up in January.:anonymous:

Or, vice versa for wanting to hang out at a gas station wayy too often.

For me, if I don't have the true range figured out in the first few months, I feel like I am missing something.

Everyone is different. That's a good thing.

I noticed that too. Disconnected mine so I could remove my seats so it wouldn't throw codes..and when I reconnected,my miles left shot up..and every time after I filled it up,it was around 360ish instead of my normal 313. I wonder why.

I hate gas stations, doesn't matter which one of my vehicles I'm driving people constantly come up and talk to me holding me hostage.

I hate my motorcycle for that reason, has a 4.5 gallon tank and the reserve is just 4 bars indicating an arbitrary amount of fuel left that disappear seemingly at random but when I fill it up I can only get 2 gallons in.

Hahaha! Too many Tacos around here for that to be a problem. And, the Seattle Freeze is a thing.

Although, there was the UDF (Ural Delay Factor) that was real and true. Most folks from the US thinking it was too cool and ex-Russian / ex-Ukraine folks (correctly!) telling me the mistake that I made.

Ah. My bike is similar. A consistent +/-40mpg, 5.5gal tank, and the reserve light flicks on at 4gal used. Normally, I'm tripping in at 200mi for 5gal fill up.

Mainly for me, a 200mi fill up for a bike feels right, as does a 400mi range on a car.

Well done. That's impressive. This is the first one I've done via remote-from-home. Not sure if I like this better or the live version. At least I get my choice of coffee. :pccoffee:

I will say my current employer supplies us with plenty of snacks and drinks and a decent catered lunch each year. And, if one is discreet, maybe a beer out of his office fridge when the meeting's over.

It ain't smart to make a habit of counting on that last few gallons of gas. I've owned my truck for 13 years and have never seen the low fuel warning light. There are too many bad things that can happen driving that low. When you get near empty, buy gas. Those silly miles to empty displays are useless.

I wouldn't assume you have 40 miles left when it reads zero.
That can bite you on the ass.

Did 40 miles when it said 0 miles till empty. Then it says low fuel refill and it shut off completely after 100yrds. I had a spare Jerry can.

My wife had a habit of running them till 0 miles range, in her last Euro car 0 meant 0, she went through 3 fuel pumps because she ran it to 0-5miles every tank. I very much like the modern buffer of saying 0 but actually having a few gallons to keep the fuel pump cool. Now she at least tells me when the light comes on but I consider 1/4 tank as time to fill up.

I've gone 50 nervous miles after hitting zero miles left. I put 20.7 gallons in that day.
