    afternoon forum,
    Im looking for a replacement clutch kit for my 01 tacoma base 4X4. I know this is the best place for opinions on the matter. I dont do alot of off roading, but i do some. The truck is my daily driver. More city than highway. Let the discussion begin.

    I’ve had good experiences with Luk in the past, and I’ve read that Aisin is one of the best options for our Tacos.

    Stay away from the clutch kits at your local auto parts store. There may be some exceptions, but most of those parts are cheaply made in China. You don’t want to do the job again in six months.

    I just purchased and installed a Marlin Crawler Clutch Kit and so far it has been amazing. Grabs hard, super smooth, and feels very solid. It was shipped to me in 1 day, granted it was in stock, but I would highly highly recommend.

    I've put 50k miles on an Exedy clutch behind my 3.4l and it has held up great to stop and go traffic in the city and the mountains. Some of those miles include offroading with 35s on stock gears as well.

    I like the clutch so much I bought another to put on the shelf for when the time comes. The only drawback is that it does hook up stronger than the factory clutch and requires a little more force to actuate the clutch pedal
