I actually have a plan, it's putting that plan into action. Right now it feels like I'm doing double the work that I need to.
Hopefully that changes on Saturday. It won't be 100% done either. I think I need to sit down and draw myself a rough diagram because I'm running wires twice to the same place, not good.

Dropping off the Mrs' car at 9am for a detailing.

Then going to get my old mower back since those mofos want WAY TOO much for a new motor, and I already got something better (I Posted the pic of it a little while back).

Then going to the mall to go get a hair cut along with my kiddo. We need haircuts BAD. Only go to one person for that; a girl that I went to high school with.

Small BBQ at the neighbor across the street in the afternoon.

    That's it.

Didn't want to start a thread on this... My Truck doesn't have a tow hitch. Is there anywhere I van hook up a chain to pull a small stump? Stump diameter is like 6 to 8 inches and most of the roots are up from the tree falling. I assume the bumper ball hitch will just rip out my bumper.

Should I just pull it backwards with the front recovery point?

I would even be careful using the front point. Heard about those bending from people using them to get unstuck offroading.

If its small you should be good, but use caution.

    Here ya go Chris.

It's a 4 year old Exmark Turf Tracer X Series, with an Ultra Cut deck (means it requires less maintenance on spindles, all of the "internals" of the mowing deck, etc). Has about 1077 hours on it, which is just about nothing for these machines. Has a 23hp Kawi motor. Machine is big, but handles super easily, and cuts really well thanks to that big motor. Commercial grade machine. 52" cut.

So they recently put a Harbor Freight fairly close to me, in Bristol. Gotta keep myself from spending all my money there.

Last week I got two grease guns, one for my driveline and one for my UCAs since they take different grease. Stopped by there this afternoon on my way to Home Depot, and grabbed one of their Apache hard cases so I can keep my camera and gear safe on wheeling adventures. I need a floor jack and a creeper, but I’m trying to hold off on those for a bit.

Thanks! I have a buddy selling his SOS rear bumper next year so I'm trying to avoid buying a rear hitch. I'm not a real guy but can probably touch my thumbs/middle fingers around it. I could honestly probably pull it out but I've never had a truck before and I want to do truck stuff!

I know you're not a tree pro (well maybe you are, I don't know you...) not should I even attempt the rear bumper and just be careful? Or would you recommend against that at all?

You could try it but I would have someone spot you if you're going to try it. That said maybe it's easier to just dig around it and try to rock it to each side with a shovel, then use a Sawzall to cut it instead.

My brother in law and I pulled a couple of trees about that size with his Silverado and a chain, but we were going to his house to transplant them so we were trying to save all the roots.

    Fancy machine man!!!! Like it!

Does it have an hour tracker on it or just a guess?

It has an hour tracker on it. The machine as a whole is in really good shape.

I'll guess 1000 is low for that machine..then again it's how they're cared for as well, in theory a lawn service mower might be in better shape versus Joe Schmo who doesn't take care of it

    Holy hell!
    This is not good!
You need to have 2 recovery points on your vehicle to go wheeling.
There is a way to use your axles but this is very dangerous and you risk damaging your truck, not to mention it's a pain in the ass.
I just assumed you had recovery points when we went on those rocks, we should have never done that.
I have bogged down my 10,000 lb winch being stuck before and you definitely don't want that kind of pressure on your axles.
Also getting stuck in mud is different because it acts like a suction cup.
You need to be jerked out using a kinetic strap.

All in all, you need at least 2 recovery points to wheel safely.

Don't do it, not sure what type of tree it is, where it's growing and how old the stump is.
You have no idea how far the roots go.
Best bet is to dig around it down like 6" then cut with a chainsaw and bury.
Pulling stumps out with a truck isn't exactly safe anyway even if you have recovery points on your truck.
Sometimes they pop out and come flying out at you sending the stump and rocks and dirt with it which can lead to breaking things on your truck such as windows, mirrors, lights etc.

Need a tractor at minimum, but ideally an excavator to pull a stump. You are 100%, unless yanking a sapling, all that's gonna happen is bent metal and maybe worse.
