Id probably do it with my shitbox 2500, otherwise I would do my best to dig around it, hack at the roots with a shitty axe, cut it low, etc.

And happy Friday. A somber one like Nuno said. Never forget. And take the time to cherish your loved ones. Days like this put really put everything into perspective.

    Good morning everyone.
Be safe, remember, and keep your eyes peeled for any nonsense - because remembering should = learning too.
    Bonus - it's Friday!

The tree fell so it's more than 50% uprooted, this is mostly an excuse to do truck stuff haha. I will try to take some pictures for everyone though

The tree fell and uprooted a lot (And knocked over my damn motorcycle at the same time) so I'd say at least 50 percent is already out. I can basically tip it on its side. This was an excuse to do truck stuff but now maybe it's an excuse to buy a chainsaw haha

I'll try to take a picture, it's really not a big tree and because it fell, it was mostly uprooted. You guys are probably right though...

Damn, alright well thanks fr the response! It's mostly uprooted from falling (And then getting cut up) there's just the stump and about half the roots in the ground, and because it's been uprooted it's blocking my chainlink fence from sitting back down properly

I appreciate you being so concerned, thank you. I have the front factory recovery point (On the passenger side, not the tie down on the driver) but I will get a rear hitch before Sucker Pond. Would my SR5 have come with a hitch and it got removed? Or did they not all have them originally?

    Chess,

I put these on the front of my truck for recovery points instead of the stupid one Toyota puts on. These should fit your truck as well

I think, and don't quote me on this, but if you had a tow hitch, you should really add a transmission cooler.

My Sport came with the tow package, which is the tow hitch AND a transmission cooler, for when you're towing.

Thanks Ken! I will check these out. I also want a steel bumper eventually so it's kind of annoying determining if I want to spend $80 on recovery points that, in a few months, will be redundant

Nuno, thanks for the heads up but I don't plan on towing anything, I just need something to use to get yanked out when I inevitably get myself stuck!

Thanks man. That wouldn't arrive in time but I got another Reese brand Class III hitch with the same specs. It'll be here monday and mounted before Sunday. I have shackles and a tow strap, but not a recovery strap yet. That will be with my next paycheck

For the VT run, ill be there. Winch should be set up and ive got a recovery strap. Rich also has tons of recovery goodies too. Seems a decent amount of people are going. Between everyone, we should have plenty of gear.

I'm very excited! I kind of want to get stuck, or someone to get stuck (Safely and without damage of course) because I've never seen a recovery in person

Thank you, and everyone, for being so supportive

Anytime! Thats what this place is for!

Somewhat funny story about getting stuck. Over a year I was working with someone to get a little winter wheeling thing going in Ct; just a couple rigs going through the forest roads that are legal. Some kid with a tacoma from my town saw my instagram and reached out to me seeing if he can tag along; i said why not..

So he follows me to the spot; no cell service. Left him alone for about 10 mins trying to get service to get into contact with Rich because our coordinates were off; apparently we were at different spots.

As soon as I found Rich, we headed to the spot where I left the younger dude. As soon as I get there I see hes stuck in a whole heap of snow. He thought he would be smart and try making a trail by himself, bald tires and all.

Thank god for Rich, his gear, and experience because I wouldn't have been able to get that kid out myself.

Afterwords, the little shit was doing burnouts and trying to show off; typical teenager stuff. Fast forward a year or two, the kid said he blew up the motor, twice. Smdh.

Yep, I know the guy that's leading it but people will chime in.
I'd just tell you but I'm one of those over prepared people...I'd bring the whole garage if I could:rofl:
I'd rather have it and not need it:thumbsup:
Shit I'm the only one apparently that takes a pipe wrench and a file with me.
You'd be surprised how many times I used them too:sawzall:
