    Morning folks.
Welcome to the thread @GilaTrails . Enjoy the posts. Nice color on the Tacoma.

Can't like all the fires in California. My neice is packed and ready to evac if they get closer. She said they are about an hour away. She's in PenRyn(sp.).

Great pics, but like others said, to early. I always heard about Colorado weather that if you didn't like it, stick around it will change shortly. So true.

Great pictures Harry. Love the USA picture. Thanks for posting.
    Have a great day all.

A little something every chance we get.
Good Morning everyone! We had 2.91" starting at 8PM last night, and non-stop until somewhere around 5AM. It was that invisible, wet snow though Mike, so nothing on the ground! Did also cool us into the 50's! Being in the dark, no good pics. And I won't have to water this week for sure.

Emptied out the greenhouse on Labor day; going to make some changes for "winter". The real reason we have it is for overwintering all the hibiscus we have around the pool. Summer veggies are fun experiments. Now, this doesn't compare to some of your big yards that I love seeing pics of, but I found a panorama shot is the best way for me to see how much we have in our tiny space. Took this on Labor Day, before all the rains started.

    20200907_120328.jpg

And it doesn't show in the big pic, but the wife loves the little corner in the only shade I made for plant potting and care.

Ground is covered with about 4-6 inches of the white stuff still. Slowly melting into the ground as that is not frozen.

Snow is the great "killer" of wildfires - so an early dump in tinder dry high country is welcome. As long as it doesn't just hang around till Christmas! When we lived in Lander, Wyoming it would often arrive in the first weeks of Sept. but usually melt off - admittedly 40 years ago. I had to shovel 27" of heavy wet stuff off my creaking shop roof!

anyone else out there suffer from blurry vision caused by eye drops used to treat Glaucoma. I hate days like this, it makes reading and typing quite difficult.

Can't like that David. Had cataract surgery and right eye had a astigmatism. Vision in that eye is slightly blurry while left eye is good. Hope your day gets better.

David, you need to contact your eye doctor concerning this. There are several things that can cause blurry vision. Make sure it’s the drops and not something else.

@Sprig , I've already talked with him about it, one of the side effects of the eye drops. He talked about trying some laser surgery, but I'm not a big fan of eye surgery. My twin sister has had glaucoma since her mid 20's, and is legally blind now. really sucks some of the things we have to put up with as we grow older.

    Nice set up Kurt.

David: My wife had a detached retina in one eye about a year and a half back. She also had glaucoma in both eyes. The glaucoma had to be repaired in the one eye befor the retina surgery and then there was about a 6 month wait to treat the glaucoma in the other eye. The doctor also did eye surgery to fix her vision while he was doing the other work and she sees just fine now. This process took over a year to fully heal but because of the detached retina she needs to go for a doctor visit every 6 months. The corrective surgery for the vision was expensive but worth the price. Most health plans do not cover Lasik so the cost was out of pocket.

I've had laser surgery done three times now, twice to repair tears in my retina and once to clear up the lens "pocket" (don't remember what it's actually called) that was fogging after cataract surgery. It's not a big deal, don't take chances with your vision.

Good Morning All! A crisp 63* this AM, headed back to higher temps. We got enough rain to last me through a couple yard waterings at least!

Thanks for the compliment Tom, it's all sort of build what fits! The shed is new this year, so I can start to reclaim the garage. We've had a metal frame greenhouse with a plastic shell for years, but it was starting to look like a 3'rd world project. Biggest issue was overcoming the wife's complaint that they were both so close to the pool (as was the old greenhouse), but eventually, she accepted it. City made me stay 5' off the property line, so that dictated pretty much 8' long boxes would be all I could get.

Hoping everyone around the fires can get the rain we got or some snow. Stay safe!

I've been to about 4 different Eye specialists over the years, and I'm what they call border line for lasik, which means I'm not a good candidate for it. I have ice cream cone shaped eyes. If I was still wearing glass eye lenses, they'd look like the proverbial "Coke Bottle" lens. I hated my glasses when I was a kid just for that reason. These newer lighter thinner wonder lenses are right up my alley. They don't make me look like "Woodsy" the owl quite so bad. Glad to hear things went well for you wife. I have serious back issues, and really don't need any other complications concerning my overall health. I see my Glaucoma Doc just about every 6 months to keep a check on my eye pressures. Last checkup was 17 in both eyes, not the greatest but better than being 20+

Good morning all, like a lot of you I remember exactly where I was on this day 19 years ago. Col, I am sure this is a very emotional day for you and one a lot have to be thankful for your service and assistance. It is sad that the loss of life continues to this day for those that responded - the death toll is higher for those that responded now than those that were killed on that day.

    Be safe everyone

I had a laser procedure done to reduce pressures in the eye. I tried the drops -- the clear, light one didn't have any effect, and the thick, gritty one caused my vision to be blurry for hours. The laser procedure is working so far.

The new eyewear is quite expensive. I have been wearing Silhouette eye glass frames for around 20 years now. Coupled with the new glass technology they are really light and comfortable.
