I have been many car washes and for the first time in my life... my truck got scratches from the wash... it is on the hood. What do you guys recommend to take the scratches off? other than painting a new hood... thank you.

The only touch car wash I ever use is the old fashioned hand wash. But that being said, it just depends how deep the scratches are. If you think it's just the clear coat, a good rubbing compound or scratch filler would do nicely. If it is beyond that, you may need touch up paint. I have some on hand for rock chips and the like, just in case. I wouldn't think a full repaint is necessary unless it bothers you a lot (other than just the fact that you know it is there.)

Several passes of polishing compound/scratch remover erased some trail damage on mine. That stuff works wonders.

I was looking at the meguiar's stuff online... rubbing compound, polisher, and wax... not sure I need all of them... I think the rubbing compound and polisher will do just fine?

Personally I would wax coat after cutting and polishing. Wax gives a temporary protective layer against future damage.

Are you talking swirl marks or straight line type scratches. If your using a automated car wash with brushes then I’m pretty positive you have swirl marks. So just making sure it’s deep scratches.

Meguiers scratch X is really good. Then polish and wax
To see if it’s through the clear coat wet the area and scratch goes away for a few minutes you can
Probably buff it out if not no go.
