Fueling issues are real folks. I betcha the Magnuson is suuuuper detuned so it doesn't run out of fuel. I'd assume that charger could push power close to what Matt's powermax twins put out, but haven't found a way around fueling issues. So they detuned and release just to be first to market. Not a bad strategy. Shity for the early adopters though.

I’m not familiar with everything that goes into making one of these run well. What is the fueling issue? That we have an open recall? Couldn’t you drop in an aftermarket pump or use the same one that was used for second gen? I know they have discussed it in the twin turbo thread as well but it sounded like they had a work around.

Yeah, I totally agree there’s not enough data yet, but I had to have it.... I’m fairly confident it’ll get close to what they advertised though. I’m not trying to be the fastest truck on the road so I’m sure I’ll be happy. I just want a little more power to push my heavy ass truck down the road and up the mountain....

agreed, matt has already told us the limits with boosting the engine on stock fuel components. 6-7 psi is max. Thats what its putting out and for the size of the charger its probably doing that at a very low rpm.

Yeah if spending $6565 on a blower from magnuson is hard to swallow with lack of data then you should definitely sit on the sideline and watch.

Yeah, that’s why it’s topped off at 6psi. Similar to OVT’s base TT kit that uses the stock fuel system.

Huh? Nothing to do with being a big spender. Some people want assurances before paying that much and that’s good for them. Everyone’s gotta do what’s right for them.

I wonder what the efficiency difference is at those pressures, between the two systems.

The “you gotta pay to play” saying will always be true when adding boost.

Except the dollars to boost ratio don't match up.

$7k is a lot of coke and strippers

Lol, comparing the power of a Taco to a 454? Funny. So the rest of the story - 1990 454 had 385 ft-lbs torque...at 1600 RPM. Tacoma V6 has 265 ft-lbs ...at 4600 RPM. You don’t wanna drag race a 1990 454 in your Taco. Really.

Yup and it would be raining money.

$7k is a lot of money to hope this is what you think it’ll be. I’ll standby and let others be the guinea pig.

I wonder how long until one of these SC trucks will be for sale because it’s not what someone hoped for..
