Always nice when you catch a good tailwind to push you home!

Lifetime tank averages are nearly 20-21mpg exact, I update trip-recording after every fill up.

My drive from Keauhou, Hawaii (sea level) to Volcano village (3,750 ft elev) Non stop 45-60 mph single lane mountain roads, 90 miles, 23 mpg. Return trip, first 25miles, 42mpg (downhill) remaining miles took it down to 30mpg for the entire return trip with a tail wind. There and back with about 40 miles of driving around the Volcano national park and a few small trips to the store got me the tank average of 23.7.
I was very conscious of my driving on this trip and was surprised by the results. The wife was following in Rav4 XSE hybrid and I’m sure she would have been considerably better.

I will do the math when I next fill up to see how accurate the computer is...

I need to look in the manual cause my truck never saves the trips like yours shows with trip1,2,3,4 etc. mine only shows info for trip 1 all the others are blank! Is 'trip' a full tank load? Any ideas why mine isn't saving that info?

My truck doesn't go on runs so my lifetime is less than 18mpg.

Yep, trip = one run of the tank for me. I would second digging into the manual.

I always hit “update” on the touchscreen and reset my Trip B odometer (generally calculate my mpg every fill up for my own curiosity). Not sure if you’re doing both or one, or if it even matters - just always have done it.

Probably an old habit from driving a pickup without a fuel gauge and counting miles before this truck ... :anonymous:

Thanks, I’ll dig into the manual... I’ve been using the ‘Fuelly’ app For the last 700 miles to log my drinking habits, average 17.6 total.

I have calculated every tank for at least 25 years. Maybe missing 2-3 times. I’ve found that to be accurate I need to use the same pump (some are not as level as others) and when the auto cutoff stops the pump I add no more fuel. By doing this with my Lexus when the light comes on I have exactly 3 gallons left (per the manual and per my calculations). It’s very accurate.

I got a 27.1 mpg average over a full tank once. But I started at 5,000’ when I filled up and came down to 200’, where I then spent the remainder of the tank, so I think it’s cheating.

Looks like I'll be the first to break 40 MPG!!!! It was all down hill but normally I'm able to get 18 or 19 MPG in the city.

You all have lowered 4cyl trucks or what? Those are some big numbers.
