    Don't bypass it.

The batteries in the sensors last 7-10 years and a set of new ones will cost you $15-$20 each. Any tire store will install them at no cost when you buy new tires. Once a truck has 6-7 years on it and will need new tires soon buy a set and have them installed with the tires. If you wait until they die you'll either have to wait until you need new tires or pay extra to get them installed, $10-$20 per tire. Spending equivalent of a tank or tank and a half of gas every 7-10 years is cheap insurance.

They are not meant to replace an air gauge. They are meant to give you a few seconds warning if you have a sudden tire deflation while driving. If you run over debris and puncture a tire at 70 MPH the warning light will give you 10-15 seconds to get to the shoulder and at least slowed down before the tire goes flat and comes apart at 70 mph. Ask me how I know. I'm alive today along with my 2 passengers because of the TPMS in my Tacoma.

If you really just want the light off, it's not that hard to get to the gauge cluster you could probably desolder it. I'm considering this route, my only concern is there may be a canbus related to that LED that could cause a fault with a different safety system.

There are a few ways to do it. I’m pretty sure there is a few threads discussing that on here. I remember reading a write up on it but it involved messing around with the wiring in a way that in my opinion was asking for problems. My plan is to get new sensors programmed then put them in A sealed section of pvc install an air fitting and Pressurize it to 40 psi then the computer will be happy regardless of what wheels you have on

Yaal are thinking too hard. At the back of the cab about the drivers side window the tpms power box is under the headline. Pull enough plastic trim to pull the headliner down a bit and pull out the plug to the module. Done and done

IIRC it got rid of all power to the module. Unless the cluster detects its loss of power and turns a light on automatically. Ive been too lazy to attempt this yet just havent used mine ever

Why do you want to disable it?
The light comes on for a reason.

I've had my truck for two years and the light has never come on. I had new sensors put in when I upgraded my tires and wheels, I also had someone set the threshold correctly.
This is the main reason why the light comes on, most of the time the threshold is set incorrectly or truck owners mess around with the "SET" button.

But like above, you can disable it by just unplugging the computer (module).

The TPMS light on my '06 started blinking again so I guess the batteries are finally tits up after 14 plus years. Sounds like from what I'm reading here that I can order the new sensors and have a tire shop install them. What about programming? Any tricks to that or does the TPMS system see the new sensors and say OK we're good?

Set of new what? Batteries or sensors?

Aren't the sensors sealed, batteries not replaceable?

Where are OE quality sensors available for $20/per?

Mine are 8 yo now. I won't need tires for a long time, but I like to know resources in advance.

    TIA

Disconnecting the tpms receiver box doesn’t work for me. The one above the headliner. I’ve read somewhere where people were going behind the glove box and using a wire to stick in a spot where there’s a blue wire and then grounding it to a nut. Anyone know that process?

I just learned to ignore the "exclamation point in the fishbowl", as my daughter described the TPMS icon. Once it's been on a few weeks, you don't notice it any more. One of my sensors failed about two days after the first new set of tires I installed after buying my used 2011. I waited 60K miles until the most recent set and then replaced all of the sensors. Now I expect the damn light to be on, but it's not; guess I'll have to get used to it all over again.

If i was going to disable the light I'd probably go into the cluster as mentioned above.

Honestly, when it comes to stuff like this, I'd fix it. 200$ for some sensors to keep it working for another 7-8 yrs? Thats peanuts. I spend more on coffee in 2 weeks

I've cut out two pieces of black felt to fit the bottom of the instrument cluster. No more blinking light.

Reminds me of the woman that covered oil pressure warning light with bubble gum, that solved problem for her until engine quit. If I was a hack I damn sure wouldn’t broadcast.
