Was going to hidden falls. Stopped for gas and she wouldn’t start again. Could hear the solenoid in the starter clicking but nothing more. Smacked it with a hammer and it started, dropped it offf at toyota

 

Hey everyone. My 1st gen needs an alignment. I know there are thousands of shops in the city that can do it, but can anyone recommend a specific person or shop?

Well hard lesson learned today. Apparently Discount Tire does NOT even do alignments when you buy tires from them, nor do they let you know that, and I just made a bad assumption that when they mount and balance new tires they would do an alignment.

less then 6k miles later, I now need two new front tires. Whoof. I hate myself.

 

They at least recognized how badly it was and that the tires shouldn’t be nearly that bad so they’re giving me 2:1 on the news ones to reduce the cost. But that hurt the pride a bit. Poor mistake on my part

 

Get them rotated, go to Firestone and get the lifetime alignments for like $120. Get an alignment with the fronts in the rear and they'll even out.

 

Dude, they're trying to sell you a new set of tires you might not need. Post up a pic of your tread wear.

nah man they won’t. I actually have that at Firestone. Just didn’t realize it needed it because I figured they did it when you install new tires.

I’m at 2 mm on the inside of my front driver side and 4 mm on my passenger. It’s REALLY bad. I just didn’t see it until I went to rotate them last night. Figured they were fine given they’re still new.

I’ll go take a photo so you can see. It’s bad bro lol

That can be an expensive mistake if you have oversized off-road tires it's best to rotate them every 3k or check them out around that time

 

yeah I usually stay on top of them. Been running Nittos and knew that. I’m only at 5k on the tires but they’re shot now

my thoughts exactly. Now I have a spare that’s a match. Because currently my spare is actually a similar sized GMC tire.
