She was kennel trained by her previous owner (I rarely keep her in a kennel but I leave one accessible for her safe space) so hopefully the next few weeks aren’t that bad, I think the biggest adjustment will be getting used to the cone, she was not thrilled about it tonight.

Edit: I guess she was ready to chill out and sleep, I kenneled her up less than 10 minutes ago.

Yea mine wouldn’t have went for it. He sleeps in my boys room and I like it that way. He rides kennel in the truck on the way to do fun stuff but that’s about it. He’s an 85lb inside dog that is just as much family as anyone else

I think so, her previous owners always called her a blonde shepherd but her traits line up with golden shepherds and I’ve seen a few photos of goldens that are as blonde as she is.
I got her when she was 13 months, her previous owner was a k9 trainer for the Air Force and they got her right after their pug passed away, the kids never bonded and didn’t want to make time for the pup and the parents were starting to go back to college full time and they heard I was looking for a dog and asked if I wanted her, she was house and kennel trained when I got her but I had a bigger yard and back porch than the previous parents so she was an outside dog when I was at work and when I got home she would be inside with me and no need for a kennel.
I’m very glad she’s kennel trained though, she’s my first kennel trained dog and it’s a nice option to have.

I say probably golden shepherd. Coat says retriever but face is definitely shepherd. Both awesome loyal dogs, can’t go wrong

She sleeps part of the time in my room and part of the time in the loving room, I think her “protection” switch gets flipped when we go to bed and she knows we walk through the loving room to get to our rooms so she positions herself out there, her German shepherd/lab mix brother from another mother sleeps on the bed with me so it’s like having a 2 part alarm system.
I did feel a little bad about putting her in the kennel when I think she would just chill in front of the door but with it being her first night back home and with a splint I didn’t want to risk her wandering around and shifting the bones.

That’s awesome that he sleeps with the boys, if I have kids I want a dog that will sleep either with them or at the foot of the bed.

Kennel trained is a really nice option. Mine will do it but he doesn’t love it because he really runs the house like all the time. I have two teenage boys that he loves and a 8 month old baby girl that he looks after so he’s pretty busy

I purposely got that dog to be my babies best friend. I wanted one for a while too. It’s nice when things just work out
