Finally jumped into the Tacoma world on 8 August 2020 and I am figuring out what and where I want to take the truck. Main things are keeping it as reliable and low maintenance as possible since it's my DD. This will also be a slow build.

Main uses are as a daily driver. Occasionally I'll do dirt/fire breaks with a goal more towards overloading. I'll buy another Jeep as a toy for anything hardcore or take my dirt bike out. I will also be pulling a popup camper from time to time.

If I lift it then the goal will be to stay under 3 inches and fit the largest tire with zero cutting.

Pretty much the first thing I did was purchase an OEM rubber bed mat for the truck. I’d say it’s one of the hardest installs I’ve ever completed but really ties the whole thing together. I was able to pick it up for $87 from a local dealer so that seemed like a good price.

The next thing I did was add a cell phone pocket to the driver side door so I can keep a couple random cards that I don’t like to carry. Again, this was a super technical install and I can do a write up if needed.

I also just added Raptor lights and used the plug and play harness so I could plug them directly into the harness.

Build plans as of now: (subject to change)

    Stage 1:
    Truxedo Pro x15 tonneau cover
    2.5-3” lift kit (OME?)
    33” tires
    AEV 17” rims
    Roof rack (Victory or Prinsu)
    4.88 gears
    Intake
    Cat Back Exhaust

    Stage 2:
Front Bumper (Probably one of the slimline that only covers the center section)
    Rear Bumper???
    40” Light Bar
    Rock Lights
    Ditch Lights
    Lighting Control
    Dual ARB Compressor/mount
    Awning
    In bed shovel/axe mount

    MISC:
    De-badge the truck
    Max trax
    Aftermarket transmission cooler
    Recovery gear
    Portable jump pack
    Seat covers
    Phone/tablet mount
Cable management (forgot the brand I saw)
    Raptor Lights (Completed)
    Rubber bed mat (Completed)

I’m sure that I’ll come back and update/change this list from time to time. Especially as my needs/wants change or as I decide on specific items. Feel free to add advice where needed.

Just ordered paint matched bumper caps from Taco Vinyl. They aren’t needed but I really don’t care for chrome and I can’t understand why Toyota puts chrome rear bumpers on these trucks. I’d understand it if I had a base model truck. I’ll post up pics once they get delivered and I get them installed.
