Hello, I did a search and everything is about parking assist sensors and not the lane departure sensors. I was recently rear ended and am looking into getting an aftermarket steel rear bumper. I know there are sensors in the rear bumper for lane departure. My question is if there will be any issue moving the sensors to an aftermarket bumper? How does that process work? Thanks

Wow I really like that bumper! So unless I get that bumper, I would have to lose the sensors? There is no way to mount them in other aftermarket bumpers?

That is correct, as far as I know. C4 Fabrication made one for a bit, but discontinued it a couple years ago.

I like the one you posted, but I need a hitch and it looks like you can't get one without losing the license plate. Thanks for the info. I might just stick with the stock bumper and get it fixed. I'd like to keep both the sensors and the trailer hitch.

I believe the hitch is hidden behind hinged plate to increase the departure angle when not towing. But yes, the hitch does not sit below the bumper.

I do not have the little black circles in the bumper that usually indicate sensors. I do have lane departure though. Not sure about blind spot monitoring. Do you think I still have sensors in the bumper that I would need to move?

The little black circles are the back-up sensors. The billing spot monitoring sensors are hidden behind the plastic in the corners. If you have them, there will be a "BSM" switch on the dash and a warning light will show up in your mirrors when someone is driving in your blind spot.
Lane departure is part of Toyota Safety Sense and is based off a sensor in your front grill.

Ohhh ok I'll check to see if I have it. Honestly I just turn all that stuff off, but I don't want to lose it for resale value. Thank you for the explanation it's much appreciated. I suppose if I don't have the blind spot monitoring that I can get whatever bumper I want. Thanks again.

Only here to clarify. Lane departure is the camera behind your rear view mirror. Said camera is also used for the auto high beam feature. Radar cruise control, and pre-collision warning are detected off the big radar thing in your grill. The dots on the rear are back up sensors. Finally, as someone had mentioned earlier, blind spot monitoring is the big sensors in the corner of your bumpers that cannot go through steel.
