 Just spent a week on your island and my buddy @Chux says he thinks he’s seen you wheel with this dude I saw hanging out at the Halona Cove yesterday.

Man, I hardly ever check my build thread anymore. This island is so small, but surprisingly, I have never wheeled with that guy. It's just a matter of time though. I hope you had a good time here!

Here's a photo dump of my last trip. Big Props to @Vigo for coming along and hammering down in his super charged beast! His truck did awesome with his new beadlocks. It's hard to capture how nuts these hill climbs are, but they are barely makeable in my truck aired down to single digits lol. They are steep, super slippery, filled with big roots that will stop you in your tracks, and if you don't make it on your first try, god help you. That raisin of a Tacoma is the most beat not babied Tacoma in the world and makes it look easy in these trails here, and trust me, it ain't easy.

Had a great time dude, glad we got to enjoy it before all this Rona virus stuff happened. Also your cage came out sick. I know I have been following it's progress in the welding thread, but its awesome seeing it all done.

Well, this was a major job getting the Tundra steering rack retrofitted in the taco. A new OEM power steering pump and inner and outer tie rods got installed with it. It works very good and I don't remember my truck ever driving/steering this good, even stock.
Here's a photo dump of the process.

Huge compared to the stock rack, and the stock rack barely fits in the truck!

The stock barrels get cut, they are welded on the top, and then the crossmember gets patched.

The new rack gets mocked up and new barrel locations laid out and cut into the crossmember.

After getting the new solid barrel mounts welded in, the steering shaft needed to be cut a little over an inch shorter and welded back together.

The new rack bolts were very close to the front diff mounts, but they have to go there. The driver's big diff mount washer and flange nut needed to be clearanced in order for everything to fit.

The bigger rack clears the oil pan by a few millimeters.

    New OEM pump

New tie rods and Tundra steering rack boots.

And last but not least, my home brewed toe setting thingy, which work pretty damn good.

Not sure when I'll have time to get these on the truck, but these sure look nice when they come out of the box.

Photo dump of my fuel pump install. This kit came from URD, an AEM 340 lph fuel pump. Here's the crazy part, I had to drop the gas tank twice. The first time, I had everything together and working, and my gas gauge stopped working intermittently, then totally stopped working. Shittiest thing that could ever happen.
I ordered a new fuel level sender thingy and dropped and opened up the tank a second time. Come to find out, the electrical connector for the sender had unclipped and fell off in there. SMH.

Everything is all good now. The only problem I had was getting a fuel vent line connector apart the first time. Must have been filled with dried mud.

I really dig the tundra rack retrofit. I am not sure if people have done it yet for first gen's but it's something I am considering if I go to 37's.

It works pretty good and doesn't feel like it's struggling. I just went on a mild trail run last week and it works better than the stock rack with the front locker on. The stock rack used to sometimes get overheated when running the front locker.

Even running on the freeway is a lot better with the Tundra rack. Less wandering with the 37's. And less force needed to steer the steering wheel.
