I can’t find any threads talking about the Led lights next to the clock below the radio. I need to replace them from amber to blue and I cannot find out what kind of Leds they are. These lights are the security light, the passenger seatbelt light, the passenger airbag light, and the air bag on and off lights. The Leds aren’t all the same size as the passenger airbag light and the passenger seatbelt light are significantly larger. Does anyone know what kind of lights these are or at least the voltage and sizes of them.

I may be incorrect about this, please correct me if I am.

I seem to remember reading a thread somewhere on this his web site about a fellow who had taken the unit apart to discover that it was the face plate that was making the display amber in color so he replaced it with some clear plastic.

I am more than curious to learn if this is NOT in fact the case.

    Curiously yours,

    Jim

Thanks for the replies. I ended up figuring out that they were around 4 volts through trial and error, so I just used some old Christmas light leds that were also 4 volts and soldering them in there. I used the same Christmas light Leds regardless of the larger bulbs having more watts. I don’t recommend this because they aren’t too bright but they got the job done and I didn’t have to wait a week for shipping with a hole in my center console.

Jim, the Leds themselves were amber and there was no colored film, except for the actual clock which is an aqua green with a thick amber film on top to just make it look amber. I just used a knife and unstuck the plastic off the face of the clock (which was glued on), scraped off the amber and used blue film but the film isn’t strong enough so it still looks green. I’ll probably try painting it or using more film.

    I remember it too,

I think the guy was referring specifically the clock colour, not the other lights.
it went from amber to a white?
I think I have it bookmarked as a possible future mod.
