That might be the same fork you're talking about. I guess it's not too new. But it's about .2 miles before the wall so you could def check it out beforehand

thanks for the info! I was thinking it might be a bit overplayed. I’m on 32’s with the factory locker. I think I’ve got a fighting chance. Seems like anything else, it’s just getting your tires in the right spots. I’m usually able to pick out the easier lines on stuff. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and I can give it a shot.

    Stuff. Also things.
Spent Friday night and most of Saturday camping on Johnny Park Road after somehow finding an amazing campsite that wasn’t taken by the gazillions of other people we saw out on the trail. With such incredible views of Mt. Meeker and the summit of Long’s Peak, it still boggles my mind that we somehow landed that spot.

We got treated to an pretty spectacular sunset, moon rise, and moon set, and then an even better sunrise yesterday morning. The high point of all of it was a full rainbow at sunrise that terminated right on the Twin Peaks.

We also checked out the south end of Pierson Park trail, but decided to turn around due to increasing rainfall right before the steep drop into the park near the end. After that, we got back on Johnny Park Road and took it the rest of the way out to Hwy 36.

    It was a great trip!

Is that dinger behind his rear door from that trail?

After getting to play with @Wulf 's (now my) 35s, I am pretty excited to be able to get on some more stuff. It felt like a totally different truck. Of course, my 140" will make shit even harder.

Speaking of armor, I did curl my bed under itself this weekend. Luckily, there arent any bumper pieces left for me to rip off and the part of the bed that relocated itself will eventually get cut off. I am going to do tires first, but I am getting closer and closer to that rear bumper.......

Yeah, ya know...the top of the switchbacks on one of the most dangerous trails in Colorado seemed like a good time to just pull a rear tire and check on things. Doesnt everyone randomly check their brakes on the trail?

o-ring blew out on my brake cylinder as we came to the top of the switch backs. I felt it. I got out of the truck and said something about my pedal feeling soft on the last few attempts to stop. I popped the hood and the master reservoir was close to empty. Then Coop saw the brake fluid all over the inside of my tire. One of those things that is kinda hard to predict. Guess what I will be adding to the parts bin? Yep. A wheel cylinder.

Also knocked Williams off, though that has been an access issue, you can make it all the way to the Alpine Tunnel access road, but it is blocked in both direction by rockslides.

Met with @johntoyota, his friend Mel, @Wulf, to ride Red Cone, Radical Hill, Middle Fork Swan River, and SOB Hill up to Georgia Pass Saturday. I've told my wife that wheelin reminds me of pickup basketball games I used to play at the local park. Just show up and play. Except now I bring my truck instead of a basketball. In that light, Patrick and his friend Brian, in a white 2015, joined us as we aired down at Hwys 60 and 285.

The sky was especially blue as we climbed up Red Cone. A refreshing sight after weeks of smoke.
    IMG_2737.jpg

A little snowy climbing up to the top. We were early enough to be one of the first groups.
    IMG_2743.jpg

After enjoying the views at the top, we skied Red Cone ... in our trucks!
I got to go first. I was Franz Klammer racing for gold!

This series of three photos shows @Wolf's excellent technique as he carves his way around the imaginary giant slalom gate.

    IMG_2767.jpg

One of the vehicles that came downhill after us mentioned that at least 8 vehicles turned around. They missed the fun. :cookiemonster:
Patrick's spyglass revealed enough snow on Webster Pass and Radical Hill that we felt it would be wiser to take FS285 towards Montezuma.

We decided to cruise on over to this trail next:

Fantastic day. It was great meeting Patrick and Brian. I am still pumped today from yesterday's run!
