I just picked up my brand new 2020 double cab yesterday and it's stereo upgrade time. I have the non JBL head unit. I read a few pages off that massive 250$ stereo upgrade thread. I have decided to get the Subaru tweeters. I'll install that myself.

I'm looking to get the 4 door speakers changed and probably just install a 4 channel amp. I don't think i need a DSP unit or sub woofer if i get really good door speakers.

I don't know what speakers i'll get yet but i doubt they will be just drop in. So i'm looking for what it should take a good stereo shop time wise to install the 4 speakers. Probably have some mods to do to get them to fit. And a 4 channel amp just to enhance the sound. I'm sure lots of people have done it that are on this forum but i'm looking for what it should take a skilled full time installer with all the tools, tips and install tricks!

    Thanks!

I can tell you replacing the speakers and tweeters...very easy. Maybe an hour to pop the door panels off and connect the speakers.

I added a sub and an amp for just the sub. That one took a bit longer running power and speaker wire then installing the sub...and tapping into the back of the headunit. I'd say 1-2 hours for a 4ch amp install? Guesstimate

I am doing the tweeters as they are plug and play. Just pop the grill off. I doubt very much the door speakers I pick will be plug and play. There are a few that pop in with an adapter but I don’t want to limit my choice of speakers to plug and play only. I’m sure there will be some modding required. That’s why I want a shop to do it.

If you order from crutchfield they will send you all the wiring adapters and speaker adapters, if I recall correctly they did all that for me. Making it pretty much plug and play!
