I’m not a tire guy but I think I’ve ready everything in the internet about them. I need someone to confirm my research is right before I pull the trigger on the tire order and install.

I’ve got a new 2020 sport with 17” wheels. I want to go down to the 16” 2020 pro wheels and run 265/75/16 with the offset the exact same. I just need someone smarter than me to say “yeah no problem.” Everything I’ve read says there will be no issues but I just need some affirmation. All the brake components clear no problem?

Yup, there will not be any issues moving from the 17 to the 16.

So, brake rotor clearance isn't an issue dropping a wheel size? IDK, just wondering why the 3rd gen went to a 17" wheel when the 2nd gen had a 16", unless they made some brake changes. Or was it just for looks and to charge more money?

Sports have had 17” wheels since they were introduced in ‘05.

No, not if using a toyota oem wheel. Some of the aftermarket 16s have that issue, pro comp being one of them. Some need to shave a 1/16th to a 1/8 inch off the caliper

True, but a 16 can be put on it.
    The limited comes with 18s

What's that have to do with what I said? I was responding to the question in the quoted post.

It was mainly a matter of curiosity. I went from the 7.5x16" stock alloys on my 2011 to 8.5x17 aftermarket wheels just to make sure I didn't have fitment issues, because I'd read so much conflicting data on quite a few wheel styles. I haven't regretted going to 17's at all, I like them better than the 16's. Overall diameter stayed the same by dropping from 265/75-16 to 265/70-17.
