IMO, unless you're going after a manual TRD Pro, or a specialty color TRD Pro, there's no need to "order", when you do order, it kinda gives the dealership the upper hand because they know that you have strong willingness to buy so less room to haggle.
All other trims and configurations are in abundant supply you can pretty much find what you want so buy from the lot and haggle it better,

I did "order" a Pro in Texas at MSRP, but then decided to go for a fat discount on a Sport

Historically, new third gens. are offered at MSRP There has been no problem selling them as fast as they can make them, Have you ever seen a Dealer lot with a large inventory?

Both dealers in Colorado springs were pretty stocked when I got mine last year. Covid is a different story, all dealer lots are practical empty

Its an allocation or special allocation request, not an order. But given the circumstances current supply / demand issue, guessing most will be paying MSRP or slightly less, gone are the days of at least 10% off MSRP until things stablize. Probably be a good idea to start a "What are you paying for your 2021 Tacoma" thread to be sticked rather than more of the same threads, sort of the norm here, we've had one for each year. Good luck.

I paid $1200 under msrp for my 2020, this was finalized when it arrived at the port on the first batch to hawaii and before they even reached the showroom.

We asked for a rav4xse to be allocated to us in Jan, it arrived in July. Dealer usually has 200 cars in stock and only had 30 or so on the lot but they gave us $800 off plus floor mats, and cargo mats.

    This is Hawaii also!

Well considering they haven’t officially bought the trucks yet, they haven’t paid anything.

    This is very true.

OP, you’re probably gonna have to wait for answers when the stock is available and people are bargaining.

Before COVID every Dealership in CA had a bunch of Tacoma’s. I think the one I bought from had about 40-50 on site.

Naw, I'm sure @toyotahenry is a good guy. What our trucks cost is absolutely dependent on dealer and region and supply and demand. There is really no way to compare what someone is paying in Maine to what someone is paying for the exact same truck in California. The only real thing you can compare is list.
I second the notion that, because of pent up demand due to CoVid, you will be paying close to list on every truck.
So the question is... do you want a truck and are willing to pay the price?

I got this for $39,525 before and $42,894.01 after. This was about $1500 cheaper then the other 2 major dealers around me.

Did the $39,525 include customer cash?

Ordered a 2021 TRD OR DCLB in Army Green, with premium off-road and advanced technology packages. MSRP ~ $45k with a few add-ons. Production date of 9/27. Dealer is estimating a mid to late October delivery date.

Waited for the MY21 to come out specifically for the long bed option. Otherwise I’d be driving the pro right now.
