Also I saw the dozers cutting line almost six miles away and on the north side of the feather river canyon. Wtf do they expect to happen????

So what do you do when a PR person from a national forest fire command tells you if it makes a run we cant stop it because we only have 500 guys on the ground that are split in two shifts.

I'm improving. Just didn't need a set back doing that install alone. IFS, and mid skid are cake, but that T-case steel skid is a bitch. @K_Sandhu was my savior today.

So I've noticed that during a fire the surrounding areas are almost lifeless of wildlife. Ots not normal for me to not see them or hear them. Now its less that an eighth of a mile visibility and all I hear are domestic animals and a few vehicles. This feels so strange

Damn. All of our vehicles run Kenwood double-din units with Android Auto and iData Maestro integration. I haven't had any issues, other than needing to replace the USB cables, because AA needs perfect cables.

    I guess I should clarify...

There's obviously nothing easier than a plain red/yellow/black + speaker pairs. My easy reference was mostly about integrations. I've tried other steering-wheel control adapters before, and I've never really cared for any of them; hell, some flat out didn't work! The first time I tried the iData solution, it was amazing. I pre-programmed everything and spliced the Maestro harness to the Kenwood harness early, and the install was pretty straightforward. The OBD-II features are pretty damn cool too. I use the TPMS read out when airing back up all the time.

Having Torque Pro on a head unit is something that I've been looking into. I really like the Pioneer AVH-W4500NEX. I will probably pick one up and swap it into my wheeling rig.

Yes, having the correct adapters, from a reputable company, makes life a lot easier. I guess my biggest gripe with CAN bus is it over complicates a super simple system. Stereo wiring hasn't changed a whole lot over the years. Constant hot to retain memory function, switched hot for power and ground. Then along comes CAN bus and links that simple system to so much other crap it caused the system to fail way more often.

I guess I like my stereos and my 4x4 systems old school. lol
