Going from stock to 265/70/17 and I was curious on whether you guys would also swap out the spare? I wasn't planning on it since it'll be slightly smaller and figure cars that had a spare, would usually have donut tires (significantly smaller) and would serve its purpose of getting me to a safe spot to do a repair/swap on the tires.

    Thoughts?

Yeah, thats what I was thinking. The only pain would be to make sure the spare is on the back wheels vs the front.

Run 255/70R17 winters and now 265/70R17 RTs in the summer, Spare stays the same.
If I had to go any distance I would move the spare around to the front, otherwise I wouldn't worry about it.

Some people have noticed their spare RIM size has been different than the other 4.

When I made the switch from 265/65/17 to 265/70/17 the guys at Discount Tire told me not to bother with changing the spare. Anything bigger though they’d recommend a change.

What if you get a flat while off roading? Don't cheap out. You can do 5 tire rotations and keep the set longer.
