Have you tried leaving it all open and filter out and sitting in the passenger seat while going thru a car wash to see where you can trace it? or just get a pressure washer and have someone spray down in that area until you see water, that would be my next steps

The last time I went, they nearly ripped off my front bumper when one of the wipers lodged itself between my license plate and the plate mount, car wash guy was honest and got it fixed though. But yes, I am now totally against auto washes...

    Now back on topic...

I personally enjoy an afternoon washing the truck and having a few cold ones. So I suppose its a win/win but when winter rolls around---I just take it to one of those spray washes just to rinse the salt off

I live in the desert, its been roughly 117* dry heat here, I believe any water that would come out of my hose would metamorphisized into dust.

Just an update. Dealer has had my truck for 2 days and were able to duplicate the issue. Toyota Engineereing is working with the dealer to further troubleshoot. They are also taking other Tacoma’s to the same car wash to see if it’s just mine or a bigger issue before they tear it apart. So far I’m happy with their level of effort.

Unfortunately I got a call yesterday and they will not proactively order the parts and do the repair until they can verify the issue. He said they will check the whole AC system and then order the parts regardless if they see the temp warm up after letting it idle. The TSB doesn't necessarily apply to my area due to the temp not getting over 100 much. BUT, he said they will order the parts if the truck does the exhibited behavior as he is aware of it. This is a good dealer and has never given me grief so I am fine going through the motions. They are the only dealer that updated my transmission software just by asking and made a huge difference.

You could always take it through the car wash with the A/C off, just keep the windows rolled down if it's hot.
