Those are speed related. I think TC shudder is more torque/load dependent.

cam timing tables are about to be updated too,

    but there is >
    base cam timing tables
    high speed cam timing angle
    high load threshold
    idle cam timing
    etc

If you’re problem is in 5th gear with TC locked at this speed, why not just move the TC lock curve or gear shift curve up to run 5th unlocked or in 4th? 40 mph is pretty low for 5th gear imo.

VVT angle changing, by itself, cannot make the crank spin 400 rpm slower. it defies the laws of physics.

Also, you shouldn't use airload tables for trying to modify the torque converter.... use the torque converter tables.

But what about that new adjustable length timing chain?

Could you help investigate it then? It is above our pay grade. That's is only flaw at the moment.
Let me know what you need.

I can't investigate it without data that can consistently replicate it happening, with all variables. I know you say it happens when intake VVT drops, but I need to see everything. not screenshots of the data. Send me the logs (use techstream to convert to CSV).

I've done a few logs and I cant quite replicate your scenario but there are situations where my RPM drops 150-200 as well mainly in straight line moderate acceleration and to me it looks like its the ignition timing dropping drastically. Load goes up about 30-40%, and ignition timing drops anywhere from 15 to 30 degrees, at the same RPM right after a 2 to 3 upshift. Still looking in to it, would love to see the additional tables.

If the RPM is happening *as a shift* is about to occur, then it may be the torque reduction for shifting tables... which you guys currently don't have in vF Tuner.

but then at the same time, rpm will drop when it shifts..

Thats the first thing I looked, but there is no shifting going on prior, during and after the event. Sending log shortly

:D When timing belts aren't just right.

I know what this engine needs, a three mode TC on the front side also? :bananadead:

I know I have sent you about 2 logs in the past regarding this issue. You were always confident in being able to fix it saying it was a shift point thing. I do remember seeing the drop in VVT angle as well and mentioned it then but I am assuming the computer is adjusting vvt angle as a result of other things happening, ie the RPM changing due to torque converter stuff or whatever is going on in order to compensate????

    19628 submitted. 2.0 b04 final Jun 2020 release.
BTW, I don't see the throttle reduction at the event I specified in the ticket. The throttle position (deg) is advancing during the drop..
    Thanks.

@Mooseditty17 and @ForceOfG have both put out files to try with various modifications. to make it work for 4.88 and 33s I believe all you need to do is just modify the drivetrain control values for tire size and diff1 and diff2. That's how I've been doing it so far and nothing blew up yet

There will be 2 tables for dump tubes (both catted and uncatted). if you have dump tubes just set the tables to 0 in your file
