I’ve read dozens of posts on here about the weird shifting issues with 3rd Gen Tacoma’s. I just bought a 2019 with 30k miles on it. The shift points feel off and it seems to search for gears at odd times. Most posts mention Tacoma learns the drivers habits. My question is, Will it re-learn my driving habits or should I get it reset at the dealer?

First thing is try the ECT Power button and see if you like the shifting better.

It's likely constantly analyzing and adjusting. So yes. You could just unplug the battery for a bit and it'll wipe it.

Still, even if all the above is wrong, I wouldn't expect any wild revelations about your driving experience getting better. It is a quirky truck. ECT will make it more responsive.... then you can try OVTune.

Tacoma doesn't learn anything, there's no AI or human brain in the truck.

Disconnect the negative battery cable to speed the process up, it will adjust to your driving style somewhat but the trans searching for gears is the nature of the beast unless you're interested in OV Tune

Depends what the trucks iq is will tell how quick it learns. Seriously though, i would think it should adapt to any drivers driving habits in a reasonable amount of time.

With TechStream or OV tune, you can reset the ECU Learned Values and AT LVs to get a clean slate. There is info about this in the ECU Update thread.
