I have a 2010 dcsb when it is hot and my truck is closed up and sits in the sun when I first start the truck the radio will shut off by itself a couple of times until the inside temp of the truck cools, figure I'll wait until it quits working and go after market.

Mine shuts off too if it's been really hot out. Only does it once or twice then it works fine.

I'm having the same issue with my 2012 non touch screen unit. I replaced the head unit with a brand new OEM unit and it did the exact same thing which means its not the unit itself. Im pretty good with stuff like this and I'v checked all the fuses and what-not so I'm at a loss. I have it at Toyota today for a frame spray and they are going to check it out. Someone help please!

Do you have a multimeter? First thing I’d check is all harness connections for corrosion, followed by testing ground connection for resistance.

Yes, that is the next step. Toyota unfortunately had no answers or diagnostics. If I’m receiving a power failure I’m going run a new power feed to resolve the issue.

Conclusion: So I used the multimeter to test the power supplies when it was working and then when it got hot and quit. There was no difference at in the power supplies. This then made me think it was my head unit again so I'm back to square one. After this I just figured I would deal with it since I couldn't figure it out. One day as I was listening to a great song and I felt like cranking it to the max. After about 30sec of full blast the unit starting cutting out and getting fussy. This is when I was convinced it had to be the head unit. I got back on Ebay and found a used one and contacted the owner and asked very specifically if it had the same issue that I was experiencing just to make sure. The new "used" one arrived and I installed it and now I'm not having any problems at all. I fell like an idiot but I really think the first one I bought was bad also so I can't help that. I hope this post helps. Thank you.
