Hey guys, I didnt know this part of TW existed! So stoked to have found this section! Im an over-maintainer and have a pride of ownership that not even all this ash can suppress.

I read something stating ash and moisture are horrible for paint, as it becomes caustic. I live in coastal norcal and we have tons of fog and ash right now. My question: does the chemical guys blazin banana spray wax i use weekly provide any protection at all against the harmful wet ash? Thank you!

Yeah, tons! I would wait too, but as I said Ive read its bad to let wet ash sit on paint. Its damp here with our recent fog blankets

I washed my truck yesterday bc all the ash.. and it happens to rain this morning.. the ash does get caked onto the paint. I would recommend doing a quick wash before it gets harder to wash off.

Does anyone even read the posts around here? Lmfao Jesus. Im asking if the spray wax I use provides any protection against caustic materials.

"Wax" is pretty ancient protection actually. Worse yet, it doesn't last very long and degrades quickly in high heat situations. I'd recommend at least a Synthetic Sealant such as my personal favorite Menzerna / Jescar Power Lock. Better protection, longer lasting and easier on and off. For the absolute best protection, I'd recommend a Ceramic Coating.
